In most cases where a memory has a faster MHZ frequency than the system is capable the computer may clock the faster memory down to match the frequency to the required by the computer or Ram if slower ram is already installed,  However, the function of clocking down is dependent on the computer itself and its design and therefore, is not guaranteed to work in every scenario.  Should you run into trouble please make sure your computer/motherboard has the latest Bios installed and if the issues persists contact our Technical Support Group for Assistance.
