Running at the minimum leaves little to no safety margin and can result in:


  • Black screens under load

  • Sudden reboots

  • GPU fans ramping to 100%

  • Driver crashes or TDR errors

  • Power protection shutdowns

  • Connector overheating or sense-pin misdetection (12V-2×6 / 12VHPWR)


Modern GPUs can briefly draw 2× their rated power during millisecond-level spikes. If the PSU is already near its limit, it may trip protection or drop voltage.
